Modalities/Methods of Treatment

Linda Marino uses the following modalities
in her Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Practice:

Acupuncture – Tiny, disposable,
sterile needles are placed in specific
acupuncture points on the skin.

Electro-Therapy – Acupuncture
points are stimulated using a safe,
gentle, electrical current.

Cupping – Using glass cups to
create a vacuum in order to increase
warmth, circulation, and release
stagnation.
-
Tui Na Massage- A therapeutic
massage technique to relax muscles and
increase circulation.
-
Meridian Therapy - Stimulation of
acupuncture points along the bodies
meridians/channels without the use of
needles penetrating the skin. This
therapy usually includes point
stimulation with micro-current, tens, or
laser therapy.

Acupressure – Stimulation of
acupuncture points along
meridian/channels in the body to
facilitate the flow of qi or the bodies
vital energy force.

Gwa Sha – A gentle scraping of
the skins surface using a gwa sha tools
to increase the circulation of qi and
blood.
-
Moxibustion – The dried leaf of
Mugwort is rolled into sticks or placed
on the ends of needles, then burned as a
warming therapy during treatment.

Exercise Therapy – Specific
movements, stretches, and exercise used
to improve health, vitality and
strengthen the body.

Magnet Therapy – Promotes healing
by increasing oxygen rich blood to
inflamed tissue.

Herbs – Chinese herbal medicine
draws from a pharmacopeia of thousands
of herbs for specific conditions.

Oriental Nutrition – Specific
foods are prescribed to strengthen,
rebuild, and balance the body.
